Mexico City on Good Friday
It was a lovely night tonight in Mexico City. I walked across the center on crowded streets to have a tune salad and a beer at Café Popular–delicious as I sat at the counter and people crammed this favorite local hangout.
Walking back to Hampton Inn, the moon was rising over the cathedral and people were lined up to take the rooftop tour.
Across the plaza (zocalo) there were hundreds od families flying kites. The sky was filled with kites at various altitudes. Kids were laughing and crying as some kites crashed, some flew, some strings tangled, and parents dealt with it.
