Monarch Butterfly Trips From San Miguel

Monarch tour fromm San Miguel

Signs at the entrance to Rosario reserve make the point that on a cold day, the Monarch butterflies may be a bit “reserved” .

Late December into early March is the season for Monarch butterfly trips and we can get you there from San Miguel, Guanajuato, and of course Mexico City. From any of these locations the travel time is a bit more than 2 hours and the trip can be a day trip, one night, or a two night adventure.

There are several Monarch Reserves to choose from with Rosario being the easiest to access. It is also the most visited, but weekday attendance is not too high–weekends get a bit crowded with México City visitors.

Our bilingual guides can arrange everything including food, transport guide service, and overnight accommodations. There is even an option to visit one or two of Mexico’s magic towns–including Valle de Bravo.

The food at the vendors around the monarch reserves is superb–including blue corn tortillas and soup.
