Spanish English book for Mexico
People often ask me for a good Spanish English book for travel in Mexico.
I never hesitate in my answer–here you go.
Lonely Planet has done an excellent job with these little pocket sized paper backs and this one really gets it done. The handy thing is that it works so well for Mexico–not just for Spanish words.
Particular words they use down there are included. I like the section on foods. Also included is a handy English to Spanish as well as Spanish to English dictionary.
I have used my copy on our Copper Canyon trips for years and will now recommend it for our new trips to Veracruz, Oaxaca, Chiapas, Mexico City, and Puebla.
Right here I will add a food word you need for Puebla. They have these cool little pea filled pockets (like empañadas) called Tlayoyos–or sometimes on menus as tlacoyos. They are not sweet and are nicely paired with one of Pueblas great soups.
